The Project Manager is a highly skilled engineer with the knowledge of industrial engineering and metals fabrication in an aerospace environment. He will have the knowledge of structural aerospace manufacturing functions, materials, and CAD/CAM systems. He must interface well with the customer as well as the manufacturing customer.
Essential Functions
The Project Manager’s responsibilities will include the following:
- Customer interface and liaison.
- Conceptual design using industrial engineering knowledge associated with our manufacturing operations and aerospace specifications.
- Design manufacturing processes.
- Create Bills of Material to meet various specifications required by design.
- Create Manufacturing Outlines to fabricate parts to given specifications.
- Ability to interrogate models using CATIA , Unigraphics, Pro-E, Solidworks, or equivalent software.
- Interface with manufacturing shop, various manufacturing support personnel, and suppliers.
- Manage large projects and maintain schedules to obtain deliverable targets overall.
- Create documentation that will allow associated manufacturing personnel to easily interpret requirements. Drawings, sketches, visual diagrams, specifications, etc.
Essential Skills
- Advanced computer skills - Inputting, accessing, and retrieving data on a computer, sending facsimiles, making copies, and using other common office equipment requiring finger dexterity to operate keyboard and calculator.
- Advanced software skills – Microsoft Office, CATIA V5, Unigraphics, Pro-E, Solidworks, etc.
- Answering the telephone, communicating with, and assisting customers, vendors and other callers.
- Sitting, bending, stooping, reaching up to 6 feet high, and moving quickly through the office and shop floor to collect or deliver documents.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervisory responsibilities, but must be able to conduct his/her day-to-day duties in a highly professional manner.
Contacts and Relationships
This position interfaces with executive management, operations management, shop employees, customers, agents, vendors, and contractors to obtain or convey information, coordinate or perform tasks.

| Qualifications: |
Education/Training/Experience
Five or more years experience in industrial/mechanical engineering or project management in the aerospace industry. Four year engineering degree from an accredited university. Advanced degree preferable.
Knowledge of:
Aerospace structural fabrication, tooling, machining, flight hardware, and assembly.
