Job Title: NC Programmer

Description: The NC Programmer is responsible for working from travelers or blueprints to create, maintain and troubleshoot machining programs for CNC machining center.  The NC Programmer will be familiar with standard machining concepts, practices, and procedures.  Programmer must have expert machining knowledge, shop trigonometry skills, and be able to read blueprints.  The programmer will be responsible for documenting progress.  Programmer will be skilled in CAD-CAM, MDI, MasterCAM, CATIA and UG as applicable.  Must be able to work with a sense of urgency in order to meet deadlines and expedite work.


Essential Functions


The NC Programmer’s responsibilities will include the following:
  • Create NC Programs for our CNC Machines using various CAD software including; CATIA, CAD-CAM, MDI UG, and MasterCAM.
  • Determine best manufacturing methods for aircraft detail parts. 
  • Respond to operator comments and suggestions.
  • Initiate tooling and planning change requests.
  • Read blueprints to determine if tight tolerance conditions exist. 
  • Daily attendance is an essential to this position.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct supervisory responsibilities, but must be able to conduct his/her day-to-day duties in a highly professional manner.
Qualifications: The qualified candidate must possess as a minimum:

  • Proficient PC skills and/or be able to learn new software applications.
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Multi-axis machining technique.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Manufacturing processes is desired.
  • Prior hands-on experience is a plus.
    Education/Training/Experience

    Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent of 5 years related work experience. Must be able to read blueprints and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. 

    Additional skills desired:

    All MS Software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), CATIA, Unigraphics, CAM, Pro-E and ACAD.  Aerospace and commercial tool concepts, factory fabrication and assembly operations.  Conventional and CNC machining operations.
