The Assembler sets up and assembles components per drawing specifications or instructions. He will be familiar with Assembly concepts, practices and procedures, such as drilling holes, milling, using clecos, riveting, chromate and paint touch up, bonding, and other assembly processes. He will work from travelers, blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions as well as exercising judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals. Based on instructions/information given, will operate various equipment on a variety of large and small parts using tools appropriate to the task. He must meet deadlines and document progress. He will perform a variety of tasks to meet our customer’s expectations. He will work with aluminum, sheet metal, steel, CRES, and other exotic metals. He must be flexible, dependable, time conscious, and be able to move from project to project with minimal supervision. Must work closely with the Shop Supervisor.
Essential Functions
The Assembler’s responsibilities will include the following:
- The ability to operate hand tools.
- The ability to use a variety of machines in accordance with blueprint requirements.
- Conformance to be determined by the employee’s supervisor.
- Able to use appropriate measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, plug gages, etc.
- The ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Providing customer service when required.
- The ability and maturity to perform in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Maintain a clean work area daily as required.
- Move parts to next operation upon completion.
- Working ability to apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with regulatory agencies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervisory responsibilities, but must be able to conduct his/her day-to-day duties in a highly professional manner.

| Qualifications: |
The qualified candidate must possess as a minimum:
"A" Assembler:
- Must be able to run his own assembly jobs unassisted.
- Able to set-up and operate various machines appropriate to the assembly operation (conventional mills, lathes, grinders, routers, drills, saws, etc.
- Must have the knowledge of aerospace processing (heat treat, penetrate inspection, chem-film, plating, tiadize, stress relieve, etc).
- Able to read and interpret aerospace blueprints, drawings, and specifications, with full understanding of GD&T methodology.
- Must have good understanding of measurement techniques and instrumentation.
- Must own tools appropriate to the task being performed.
- Must understand layout, match drilling, hardware installation, bonding, tooling, etc., associated with aerospace assembly operations.
- Must be able to operate hand tools (air wrenches, grinders, etc.).
- Must show attention to detail.
- Must have good decision making ability.
"B" Assembler:
- Able to read and interpret aerospace blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Must own tools appropriate to the task being performed.
- Must understand layout, match drilling, hardware installation, bonding, tooling, etc., associated with aerospace assembly operations.
- Must be able to operate hand tools (air wrenches, grinders, etc.).
- Must show attention to detail.
- Must have good decision making ability.
"C" Assembler:
- Entry level skills.
- Must be able to operate hand tools (air wrenches, grinders, etc.).
- Must show attention to detail.
- Must have good decision making ability.
