Description:

The Inspector will be responsible for First Article, In Process, and Final Inspection of fabricated parts, weldments, machined parts, tools, and assemblies. He will be required to use various metrology tools to measure and compare actual features on components to the part requirements. He will be required to document his inspection, prepare first article documentation and certification packages. He will occasionally be required to package for shipment. His job requires focus and accuracy, particularly in the areas of verification of identifying individual parts in large and small jobs.  He must be able to prepare documentation neatly and legibly, must be detail oriented, and a self-starter who can work with minimum supervision.  As part of a larger team, he must communicate effectively with shop personnel to ensure a quality product is delivered to the customer according to the customer's specifications and within the time frame promised. He will use drawings, specs, and/or verbal instructions as well as exercising judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals.  Based on instructions/information given, he will inspect fabricated products using conventional measurement tools, comparators, CMM’s, Faro Arms, Laser Inspection devices, and other inspection tools. He must meet deadlines and document progress. He must be flexible, dependable, time conscious, and be able to move from project to project with minimal supervision.  He must work closely with the shop management.

Essential Functions

The Inspector’s responsibilities will include the following:

  • The ability to inspect using conventional inspection tools.
  • The ability to interpret complicated aerospace drawings and specifications.
  • The ability to use comparators, CMM’s, Faro Arms, & Laser Inspection devices.
  • The ability to use a personal computer and Microsoft Office software.
  • The ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • The ability and maturity to perform in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Maintain a clean work area daily as required
  • Working ability to apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with regulatory agencies
Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct supervisory responsibilities, but must be able to conduct his/her day-to-day duties in a highly professional manner.
Qualifications:

The qualified candidate must possess as a minimum:


"A" Inspector:
  • Same as “B” Inspector with these added skills
"B" Inspector:
  • Same as “C” Inspector with these added skills  

"C" Inspector:

  • Entry level Inspector(minimum 1 year OTJ experience or trade school certificate)
